Since its establishment in 1993, Rigel Entertainment has emerged as a significant force in the production and worldwide distribution of top quality primetime television programming, the type of programming normally associated with major Hollywood studios.

Working alongside Rigel are many of Hollywood’s top producers including Norman Jewison, Robert Altman, Stan Brooks, Chessler/Perlmutter, Jeff Hayes and David Kemper among others with whom the company has amassed an impressive slate of prime time one-hour live action series, half-hour series, mini-series, movies of the week and theatrical features.

Rigel has forged successful partnership associations in North America with such leading entertainment companies as Animal Planet, Ardustry Entertainment, Buena Vista, The CBS Television Network, The Discovery Network, Disney, Film Roman, Fireworks Entertainment, Hallmark Entertainment, HBO, HIT, Insight Entertainment, Lifetime Entertainment, Lions Gate Entertainment, MGM Home Video, Orion Home Entertainment, Paramount Home Video, Paramount Television Distribution, The PAX Network, PBS, Showtime, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, USA Network, and Viacom.

International broadcasters who have joined with Rigel on a pre-sale basis include such prestigious global leaders as Canal +, France 2, M6 and TF1 in France; Beta-Taurus, CLT-UFA, Entertainment München, Pro-7, RTL, SAT-1, VCL and ZDF in Germany; Canale 5, Italia Uno, Mediaset, RAI, and Universal Home Video in Italy; Antenna 3, Forta, Tele Cinco, TeleMadrid, and TV Catalunya in Spain; Bravo, Channel 5, ITV, British Sky Broadcasting, The Science Fiction Channel, and UK Living in the UK; The Nine Network, The Seven Network and Village Roadshow in Australia; Ascii, King Video, Marubeni, NHK, Nippon Television, and Sumitomo Corporation in Japan; Baton Broadcasting, Canwest Global, Chum City Broadcasting, Fireworks Entertainment and TVA Broadcasting in Canada.

2006 marked a turning point for Rigel Entertainment as the company revealed at MIPCOM market the production of 5 new movies by David Kemper (Farscape) for the SCI FI channel and then at AFM in November, announced Blonde and Blonder starring Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards; and also When a Man Falls in the Forest starring Sharon Stone, Timothy Hutton, and Dylan Baker.  Additionally the company has added two features to its lineup with Lifetime including Twelve Hours to Live starring Ione Skye,  and Last Chance Café starring Kevin Sorbo and Kate Vernon, which together with Fern Michael’s Trading Places and the soon to be produced Plain Jane are both new literary based film franchises in the same vein as the Mary Higgins Clark films.

Also going into production is a film San Saba (working title) starring Casper Van Dien (Sleepy Hollow, The Omega Code, Starship Troopers) and Elisabeth Rohm (Law and Order, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous).
